Excel 2016 or later
Web browser (all platforms)
Launch Excel 2016 or later on Windows, Mac, or open Excel Online in your browser.
Click Insert → Get Add-ins (or Office Add-ins depending on your version).
Type "DataSetIQ" in the Office Add-ins store search box.
Click Add to install. The DataSetIQ sidebar will appear on the right side of Excel.
Try your first formula: =DSIQ_LATEST("FRED/GDP")
For early access or testing, you can sideload the add-in directly:
=DSIQ_LATEST("FRED/GDP")Returns: 28,269.394 (as of latest FRED data)
=DSIQ("FRED/UNRATE", "M", "2020-01-01")Returns a dynamic array with Date and Value columns, showing monthly unemployment rate from 2020.
=DSIQ_YOY("FRED/CPIAUCSL")Returns the pre-calculated inflation rate (CPI year-over-year change).
While the add-in works without an API key (with limited data), connecting your DataSetIQ account unlocks:
Create a new API key or copy an existing one
Open the DataSetIQ sidebar in Excel, paste your API key, and click Save
Install the DataSetIQ add-in and transform your Excel workflows with real economic data.
